Fruehlingfest in Maeystown, IL

I found these pics (THEY ARE NOT MINE) on the net from last years fest in Maeystown, Il. It is this coming Sunday, May 4th from 9 to 4. It's a one day deal. I went last year and LOVED IT. It's at least one hour from ME here in O'fallon, MO. So if you live closer for example if you reside around 270 and 40 it should probably be at least 30 to 40 minutes for you. Try to attend if you can even if it's just to enjoy the beautiful day.

Hope to see ya there, if GOD permits.

Love,

Auction findings part deux

here are a few more things that I won. I belive I won these old cameras for $2.50....I could not leave them behind. I don't care if they work or not...they will be used for decorating. Below are a few postcards that I won as well.

And to share in my winnings, if you are a cat lover, if you leave me a comment.... YOU....me? Yes YOU... can receive in the mail a cute cat
v-day card that actually moves his forehead to make his eye brows move up and down.

nothing against cats, but I would rather mail it to someone that really likes cats and will enjoy the vintage card.

leave me a comment. I will then draw a name and if you are the lucky winner I will mail it to YOU this week.

tomorrow is flea day and I do plan to attend so stay tuned to see if I find some eye candy I can take pictures of.

auction winnings

so today right after the meeting with the real estate person, I remembered that the monthly auction at my local VFW hall was going on. So I told hubby and boys so long and went to see if there was anything left that I could possibly bid on. Here are a few things that I was able to pick up. The middle pic is the design that is on the cake stand. The last pic is a card that I won with some V-day post cards. Right above this post will be some more things that were still there waiting for me.

the visit

for the last two days, right after work, I have been busting my --- trying to get this house organized for the real estate agents, that will be arriving today at 9:00 a.m., to check out our house and tell us what we need to do or not do so that we can put our house up for sale. I swear I must have been really tired last night because I don't remember even moving or waking up like I usually do during the night.

Wish us luck. I will have to post pics of my clean little house. Bare to the bones. A little bit of me still shines through, but I have been putting MY stuff away slowly. Getting it ready for the next adventure.

Spring and Home news

It's finally here and by the looks of it summer is right around the corner. I took these pictures of my garden this past Sunday while hanging out in the yard and enjoying the beautiful day.

This is one of my favorite plants and I would really like to take it with me when I move. I truly enjoy the little flowers that bloom - they look like bleeding hearts. Hence the name BLEEDING HEART PLANT.

Did we find a home in Illinois? Not yet.... Moving the contents of a whole house to another city is not an easy task. Looked around at different areas like Schaumburg, Naperville, Willowbrook, Aurora just to try and get some ideas, but we will probably look into a house in more detail once I have moved. Hubby has started his job and has been travelling. I am handling that much better then I thought. Work, kids, school, sports....to be honest don't know how single moms/dads do it, but I give anyone out there, that is single with children, 100% of my admiration. Hats off to you!.....

Well, I will leave you with this post. Looking forward to going to Maeystown, IL next weekend and I promise I will try and take some pics to share with you.

Splendid flea finds

I knew it was going to be a beautiful day here in MO so I got up extra early to attend my local flea. As soon as I arrived at around 7:00 I was really surprised to see tons of people already shopping. My first thought was, I guess they were all anxious, as I was, to have our flea be in full effect plus the cooperation of the weather helped tremendously. The first vendor I went to had tons of 1920 photographs. I LOVE the 1920s. I always say I am reincarnated from that era. So here are a few pics of my Sunday morning finds.

There was another gentleman that had some great stuff for example ledgers, but already have some so I passed. I should have bought one, but I really can't be buying so many things since I am still packing.

Is Spring finally here? We have had a few nice days here in MO, but the rain does not seem to go away. Looks like we have a few trees blooming.... I am on my way to Chicago to go celebrate a birthday and also to go house hunting. Will try to attend a flea while I am there. If that does not happen then I will hopefully be back in MO before Sunday to attend my local one.

Wishing you a great weekend!

1800 cupbard (I don't think I spelled that right).....yes I know I am moving and I should be getting rid of stuff instead of buying right..... WRONG! at an estate sale this weekend this was one of my finds. I could not leave it behind. It was just right and if it had glass in front it would have been even better, but you know what it's just perfect as it is. It is a great color and it has the right shabbyness to it. I also found these embroidered pillow shams that I have already washed and am saving them for when my mom comes down in May and keeps me company until I move in June.

I had a garage sale Saturday. Some of our stuff found new owners and some of it is getting donated or given away.

For all of you that live in St. Louis..... You can't miss the Fruehlingfest on May 4th..... it's a must go to. It actually reminds me of the Country Living Fair I went to in Chicago two years ago, but not as big. I have been saving my money for this as the vendors I saw two years ago had some really great stuff.....

Need to stop buying....need to stop buying..... I believe it evens out... donate and give away equals buy before I leave MO. I believe if my hubby read this he would say you have lost your MARBLES! Oh well that's the shop a holic in me....
