hats and life stuff

well v-day is almost over and now it's time to start looking towards the next day off or holiday. i wanted to share with you the vintage millinery hats i was lucky enough to get this past weekend. They are truly cute.

the weather was actually nice today and I am ready for spring to come. the flea is calling my name. they are predicting snow this weekend. if it doesn't show up i will be on my way to my local flea. i have the itch bad. i might be addicted to the thrill of the hunt.

another thing that is pending is my move back to Chicago..... if GOD decides that this is the best for us we will be leaving MO soon to go back home. I am so used to living here now and I know I will miss it, but with my parents getting older I believe it's time to move back.

should we stay or should we go? such a hard decision. I will be happy if I stay, but I will also be happy to go home. home won't be in Chicago it will be in suburbia.... I am not a city girl anymore. I enjoy the suburbs. 11 years ago I would never had said that. things change I suppose.

I am so excited and wanted to share with you that I finally got the guts to make postcards of some of my pictures I have on my blog. I AM TRULY EXCITED.... They came out wonderful.

Linda Harre any advice on how to try and sell them?

Auction Update

I attended a local auction Saturday. At first I debated if I should go, I have a bad habit of doing that. I get all excited and then at the last minute sometimes decide well maybe not. I am so happy I went. It was a great time. I didn't get to win that many things because there were some pretty hardcore bidders there. There were a couple of people that were bidding for the same things I wanted. I was outbid a couple of times. This is one of the old valentiens that I did win. There was this wonderful old scrapbook full of vintage valetine postcards... truly a treasure, but there were these two ladies that really wanted it... The scrapbook went for $50.00 and actually I only had $50.00 on me and there was lunch to buy and other great things to purchase so the ladies won it. They also won another hanful of postcards and then they also were bidding on another set, but they were outbid by a gentlemen that was interested in all things paper. I did get some milk glass and a few milinery hats that I will take pictures of soon. I won this great pink shabby round table and only got it for $2.50..... yes $2.50, but that is because there were no women out on the patio and the men did not seem to want a distressed pink table so I was the lucky winner...... all in all, fun was had and that's okay you can't win them all right?

as recent as yesterday

yesterday I took a drive to this, new to me, little shop in old St. Charles where they were having a winter sale. i found this beautiful bright pink vintage hat with ole millinery flowers and a bunch of thread bobbins in a jar. how exciting.... so I ran home to start playing with my camera. I will post a few more pics next.......

oh by the way, I finally got the guts to make postcards of some of my pics. now will I have the guts to sell them? stay tuned.............

just when I thought the weather was going to start getting warmer we got hit with snow. That's okay because I did not have to go into work yesterday and I got to play with my camera and spend extra time with my boys.

It's FEBRUARY 1st.......the month of love

I won this little pair of love birds at a recent auction. They are surrounded by a little plastic picket fence. When you move the little door back and forth it makes this little pair move towards each other and kiss........ How adorable and just in time for this for month.

Your book is in the making. I know the colors do not look typical for V-Day, but my friend Michel likes blue so you know who cares. I will embelish with red and pink. I am almost done with the embelishing. Three more pages to go and this little book will be ready for Feb 14th's delivery date.

vintage flowers/pins

Since this Sunday was kind of nice, I decided to take a drive to my local flea. There was some great finds to be bought, but I only bought a few things. I got a handful of these flowers for 50C and the pins I think were six for both. I love the bling of old pins and if their priced reasonably then their coming home with me. I am itching so much to start going to the fleamarket again on Sundays. Wish this winter weather would start going away soon.

well it's 2008 and I seriously thought that it was coming in with a bang and it did. I swear that every year at this time I start going down hill. As I get older it seems that I catch anything and I catch it good. So for the last couple of months, I thought that I was in the clear. No sore throat, no headaches and bamn Kidney infection. Yes, I thought I was going to make it. Friday morning got a bad pain in the mid part of my back. Thought oh maybe I pulled something. Came home from work thought I would call it an early night around 6:00 since I was not feeling good anyways. Next day was in bed all day with fever and a very achy painful back. Sunday I finally decided it's time to go to Urgent care. Two hours later, INFECTION........
My husband always teases me that I wash my hands to much. I am always trying to avoid getting sick and I usually don't escape it at all. Actually, I get sick even worse every year. Since I had a lot of time to think this past weekend stuck in bed, I come to realize that I am a sickly person. Always have been. From my younger years with bad sore throats, or terrible headaches, or being allergic to cold weather (bad rashes)...

what next........

hopefully, this will be it for the new year

As soon as I start getting better, once the big horse pills start working, I am going to mail out the valentine tags.
