Nice country fresh air

What a great Sat was had by my little family. Got up early Sat. morning for another
soccer tournament this time in Edwardsville, Il. We took second place! lost to a great group of athletes from southern Illinois. It was fun to roam around the outskirts of St. Louis in between games. So now I know what the Cahokia mounds look like. Had to kill three hours in between games. Got to see the downtown area of Collinsville and Edwardsville, Illinois. Felt like I was in a time warp. It was nice to smell the fresh COUNTRY air. Actually, I don't live to far from the country myself ya here. I am truly a city girl coming from the windy city, CHICAGO. Lived in the city all my life and worked in downtown Chicago for a couple of years. Yes, I am a city girl, but a big part of me loves the country. Fresh air, corn stalks, distressed red barns, chickens, pigges and the cows. I wouldn't mind living in the country one day.

Don't know if I would ever do it in this life time, but part of me believes I might have done this in my previous life. I am very religious, but I do believe in reincarnation. In my mind I believe that anything that I am attracted to NOW in this life might be because at one time in my past lives I might have been... Don't know how to explain it, but that is what I believe. I also would of loved to have been a cop and for a while there I thought maybe a nun. Who knows maybe I was in the past long ago. Okay, I am getting distracted here.

It was a wonderful Saturday. My husband decided after a long hot sweaty morning mid afternoon visit to Edwardsville why don't we go to Eckerts. I said why not.... let's be adventourous! So we we drove all the way to Alton, IL.... WISH I would have spoted the MCPIKE Mansion... Did you know that it's one of the most haunted places in Alton..... missed it though.

I did though pass through the Village of ELSAH.... Please, please let's move here... my husband thinks I am crazy, but I LOVE the Village of Elsah... the homes are right out of the pages of Country Living... nicely decorated... I can't explain it.... you might just need to go visit and stay at the local bed and breakfast.

goodbye Elsah... I will come again I promise....

Eckert Farm here we come. It was fun... the boys had a great time... We picked a few apples, took a few pictures, went on a wagon ride....bright sun, dust, mud, hot.... What else can you ask for....

After our stay it was time to head home through winding country roads... took the boat ferry back to St. Charles, back to reality... enjoy!
